Shelly grew up in Delhi, and as much as it is very easy to get everything in Delhi, it is equally difficult to prove yourself and become something in this city! But Shelly did!
Her family owned a boutique for many years. That little Shelly, always peeking in to see what’s going on, became interested in fashion designing. Not only did this interest her in the field, but her real passion emerged when her family faced problems meeting all customer requests. The craftsmen and tailors often said no to new designs, which frustrated both customers and the business. This made Shelly realize that if she truly wanted to prove herself and help her family, she had to take #EkKadamAAGE and move out of her comfort zone. Despite facing some medical issues and not feeling well physically, she continued to give her best and pursue her passion. This is the time when most people give up and look for shortcuts, but Shelly still tried her level best.
The urge, the passion, and the determination to make a difference led her to join Skillinabox. When she came to Skillinabox, she had a lot of interest in fashion design but lacked knowledge and practice. That’s where Skillinabox stepped in, providing her with the tools, knowledge, and support she needed. She immersed herself in learning, gaining more knowledge about designing than she had ever known before. Skillinabox not only taught her the technical aspects of design but also gave her the confidence to push boundaries and innovate.
There were days when she felt overwhelmed, but her determination never wavered. She learned to manage her time effectively, dedicating hours to perfecting her craft while also contributing to the family business. Her commitment paid off as she began to create designs that not only met customer expectations but exceeded them.
Now, that little girl with big dreams not only takes custom orders but also creates her own designs. She has grown so much as a designer that she now helps guide her tailors and craftsmen, teaching them how to bring designs to life with the quality and style she envisions.
She mentors her team, sharing the knowledge she gained from Skillinabox and her own experiences, fostering an environment of creativity and excellence.
One of the most significant milestones in Shelly’s career was when she launched her own clothing line. Shelly proved herself, and we are so proud of her that she has now taken her family’s boutique to new heights, satisfying customers with unique and beautiful garments as they want. Her journey is an inspiration to many aspiring designers. She was always creative, frequently engaging in DIY projects, and her neighbors and friends often suggested to change her boutique's name, playfully calling it "Jugadu Bhabhi Boutique”. She has shown that with passion, dedication, and the right support, it is possible to achieve your dreams.
